Egyptian VAT & TRN Validator (ETA)

Enter a 9-digit Egyptian Tax Registration Number (TRN). VIESAC verifies it directly against the official Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) registry. Prefixes EG and EGY are accepted.

How Egyptian VAT & TRN verification works

In Egypt, the standard VAT rate is 14% and the Tax Registration Number (TRN) consists of exactly 9 digits. The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) provides official taxpayer registration verification on eta.gov.eg. You can search 9 digits alone or with EG or EGY prefix.

Egypt is outside the European Union, so Egyptian TRNs cannot be checked in EU VIES. VIESAC connects directly to the official ETA tax registry. VALID (ETA) confirms that the taxpayer is officially registered. For international audit defense, VIESAC also provides translated entity names and SHA-256 evidence archives.

Questions about Egyptian VAT and TRN

What is the format of an Egyptian TRN?

An Egyptian Tax Registration Number is exactly 9 digits, often displayed in groups of three (e.g. 205-010-725). Prefixes EG and EGY are accepted.

Can I verify an Egyptian VAT number in EU VIES?

No. Egypt is not in the EU VIES system. Numbers are checked directly with the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA).

When is an Egyptian TRN shown as valid?

VALID (ETA) means the Egyptian Tax Authority registry confirms the business is registered. If the number does not exist in the official wave registry, it is reported as invalid.

Why is the company name hidden in this quick check?

Quick validation never displays company names. The official Arabic name along with an English corporate translation is stored when you create a VIESAC audit and certificate.

Does VIESAC support bulk checks for Egyptian VAT numbers?

Yes. Upload Egyptian counterparties in CSV, call /api/v1/validate and /api/v1/audit, or monitor Egyptian suppliers with automatic re-checks.
