Contacts & companies
Check a customer’s or supplier’s VAT/GST or EORI number from their contact card. See the result, registry source and latest check date together.
VIESAC for Odoo
Check customer and supplier tax registrations, link verification records to orders and invoices, and show VAT status at checkout. All within the Odoo workflows your team already uses.
Free, open-source modules. A VIESAC account is required for live checks; usage and certificate access follow your plan.
Inside Odoo
Company details, VAT registration status and the audit shortcut sit together on the contact card. Your team can review the result without switching to another application.
Made for everyday work
Give accounting, sales and operations access to the same verification records, in the places they need them.
Check a customer’s or supplier’s VAT/GST or EORI number from their contact card. See the result, registry source and latest check date together.
Link audits to sales orders. With the delivery-hold policy enabled, qualifying pending checks can block outgoing deliveries until verification clears.
Keep the relevant audit linked to each invoice. Attach available certificates and XML evidence so the supporting record stays with the transaction.
Choose a warning or a stricter posting policy for invalid supplier registrations. Help your accounting team review exceptions before posting vendor bills.
Add a clear VAT registration status to the billing address step in Odoo eCommerce. Recent results use a short session cache to reduce repeat requests.
Browse a daily VAT/GST rates catalog and review EU destination rates. Your Odoo accounting configuration determines how those rates are applied.
The right check for the job
Registration status and supporting evidence serve different purposes. Choose what your workflow needs.
Find out whether a VAT number is registered through a supported registry route.
Create a VAT, EORI or combined audit and keep the available supporting records.
Certificates are issued by VIESAC using the recorded verification results. A SHA-256 evidence hash is an integrity checksum, not a digital signature.
Choose your apps
Two free modules, connected to one VIESAC account. Choose the release that matches your Odoo version.
Registration checks and verification records for your back office.
VAT registration status while customers enter their billing details.
The modules are free under LGPL-3. Live API checks, audits and certificate downloads use the access and limits of your VIESAC plan.
EU checks. Wider coverage.
VIESAC connects Odoo to supported tax registry routes. The type and depth of verification vary by country and identifier.
EU VAT validation through the European Commission’s VIES service for the 27 EU member states, plus Northern Ireland VAT numbers using the XI prefix.
Supported routes include UK HMRC, Swiss UID, Norway BRREG, Australia ABR, Turkey GİB, Serbia PURS and UAE FTA, among others.
Get started
Your Odoo administrator installs the apps. Your team chooses how to use the checks.
Choose Odoo 16, 17 or 18. Install the main compliance app on Odoo.sh or your own server, then add the checkout app if you run an online store.
Open Accounting → Configuration → Settings → VIESAC. Save your API key and use Test Connection to confirm that Odoo can reach your account.
Select the certificate language, attachment options, supplier policy and delivery holds. Run a customer check and review its audit record with your team.
Your questions, answered
Separate releases are available for Odoo 16.0, 17.0 and 18.0. Install them on Odoo.sh or a self-hosted Community or Enterprise installation that permits custom modules. Standard Odoo Online does not support these Python modules. Choose the matching release and test it with your existing apps before rollout.
Yes. Both modules are free and open source under LGPL-3. Live checks require a VIESAC account. API usage, audit creation and certificate downloads follow your account plan and its limits; the free module does not include unlimited service usage.
No. The checkout app shows VAT registration status. It does not automatically grant an exemption or change the cart’s tax rules. Configure tax treatment and fiscal positions in Odoo for your business requirements.
The main app preserves Odoo’s local VAT syntax and checksum checks. Installation disables the company’s native online VIES option. When a VIESAC API key is configured and the replacement setting is enabled, VIESAC handles online checks without duplicate native VIES requests.
The module installs active Odoo scheduled actions: open audits refresh every 10 minutes and the rates catalog synchronizes daily. No separate scheduler is needed if Odoo’s own scheduler is running. An API connection and the relevant account access are still required.
An unavailable or pending check is not shown as a confirmed valid registration. Open audits can be refreshed by the scheduled action, or through an optional signed webhook notification. Without an API key, a successful local format check remains unverified.
An audit can retain its reference, timestamp, registry result and the authority’s consultation number when provided. Available VIESAC PDF certificates and XML evidence can be attached to the relevant Odoo records. Certificate access depends on your plan; a SHA-256 hash is not a digital signature.
No. A VAT or GST check concerns tax registration. EORI identifies an economic operator for customs purposes. The main app supports EORI audits separately or together with VAT audits where available. The checkout add-on checks VAT only.
Choose the apps for your Odoo version, connect your account and keep your team’s checks in one place.
